nazology.net

stackoverflow.com

With save, changes won't necessary be flushed to DB immediately and might stay just in memory, until flush or commit commands are issued.

With saveAndFlush, changes will be flushed to DB immediately.

However, if you flush the changes in transaction and do not commit them, the changes still won't be visible to the outside transactions until the commit in this transaction.

In your BaseController try changing

return baseRepository.save(abc);

to

return baseRepository.saveAndFlush(abc);

stackoverflow.com

 Spring Data specifics

  1. For non-ID-auto-generated entities, don't expect them to appear in the database before the EntityManager gets closed. With Spring this is usually bound to the lifecycle of a transaction, so you might need to commit first and check for changed properties on the changed object.
  2. Instead of directly inspecting the object, you can query for it and inspect the returned object. This uses what I described in 4 above. Note: don't use findOne(…) for this approach as this will make use of the EntityManager.find(type, id)-method which is usually heavily using the first level cache (potentially without flushing first).
  3. As a last resort you can use saveAndFlush(…) on the JpaRepository interface but we strongly recommend not to do it as you effectively expose persistence layer internals to your clients. Prefer using auto-ID-generated entities.

void javax.persistence.EntityManager.persist(Object entity)

stackoverflow.com

Persist and merge are for two different purposes (they aren't alternatives at all).

(edited to expand differences information)

persist:

  • Insert a new register to the database
  • Attach the object to the entity manager.

merge:

  • Find an attached object with the same id and update it.
  • If exists update and return the already attached object.
  • If doesn't exist insert the new register to the database.

persist() efficiency:

  • It could be more efficient for inserting a new register to a database than merge().
  • It doesn't duplicates the original object.

persist() semantics:

  • It makes sure that you are inserting and not updating by mistake.

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/52597229/spring-data-jpa-save-method-is-not-saving-in-the-database

spring.pleiades.io

spring.pleiades.io

@Transactional(propagation = Propagation.REQUIRES_NEW)

spring.pleiades.io

https://spring.pleiades.io/spring-framework/docs/current/reference/html/data-access.html#tx-propagation-requires_new

なんか、Propagation.REQUIRES_NEWについては、使わない方が良いって意見が多いかな...
